5 Years of Travel (in Photos)

At the end of 2007, I was a 22-year-old novice traveler stepping on a plane to the other side of the world with nothing but a backpack full of belongings and less than $1000 to my name.

At the end of 2012, I’m an expat living in my favorite country in the world.

The past five years make up the most shaping, significant, surreal time in my life.

As I sat down to write the post wrapping up this epic stage, I realized that I have enough stories for a book, not one blog post.

Instead of cramming it all in 500 words, I’m going to reflect on the past half decade and share the most important moments of my travel years.

To start, I’ve put together a slideshow of the photos that represent the most cherished memories I have, the amazing people I’ve met, and the insanely cool things I’ve been able to experience across five continents.

(Below is a slideshow of pictures embedded from Flickr. If you can’t see it, you can view them here.) You can also view them on Flickr to see the descriptions of each photo.
